Applications For Rent Relief Reach Six Thousand

More than 6-thousand applications have been received across the state for Hawaii’s Rent Relief and Housing Assistance Program. The program is designed to provide financial assistance for renters at risk of eviction for non-payment of rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is funded through the Federal CARES Act. Those who qualify can receive up to $15-hundred in rent assistance that will be paid directly to landlords. The assistance applies to rents due between August 1 and December 28.
