Mayor’s Emergency Rule 17

The County of Kaua‘i announced on Wednesday Mayor’s Emergency Rule 17 which clarifies that all persons who fly to Kaua’i to perform critical infrastructure functions must designate a hotel or motel as a quarantine location. After the quarantine period is completed, they are free to stay in other locations. The governor signed Emergency Rule 17 on Tuesday. Anyone violating any rule of the governor or mayor, if convicted, could face a fine of up to $5,000 or a serve up to a year in jail, or both.
