Hotel Demand To Remain Low

Hotel demand across the US is expected to remain low until 2023 according to travel data company STR and consultant Tourism Economics. Occupancy rates in 2019 were 66%. Last week in Oahu, as an example, the rate was 20%. Governor Ige, said Thursday that the increase in cases on Oahu could further delay the state’s plan to reboot tourism in Hawai’i. The state hopes to start a pre-testing plan for travelers on September 1.
