Mayor Signs Second Emergency Proclamation

The mayor signed the second supplementary emergency proclamation Thursday for the County of Kaua‘i as a result from severe storms and flooding during the rain event on March 27-28. The disaster emergency relief period now continues until terminated 60 days after July 23, or by a separate proclamation – whichever comes first. The purpose of the emergency proclamation is to provide continued relief for disaster damages, losses, and suffering, and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of residents and visitors.
