Debate Continues on Schools Reopening

Schools across Hawai’i are set to open August 4th but the debate about how to reopen safely continues. The state senate’s COVID-19 committee met Thursday and heard from health officials and DOE Superintendent Christina Kishimoto. She said they’ve seen success with physical distancing during in-person summer school. Senators remain skeptical saying they’ve heard from teachers who don’t agree with the plan to reopen yet.
